Puzzle

How to play

  • Tap a bucket to lift it and see the critter under it, then tap a second bucket to find its twin.
  • A pair stays out and sits down at the edge of the blanket. No match? Both critters hide again.
  • Watch the buckets: after a mismatch two of them swap seats, so follow them with your eyes.
  • Find every pair to win. Fewer flips earn more stars. Each new critter you meet joins your Critter Album.

Controls

  • Phone or tablet: Tap a bucket.
  • Keyboard: ← → ↑ ↓ to choose a bucket, Space or Enter to lift it, H hint, R restart.
  • Mouse: Click a bucket.
  • Gamepad: D-pad to choose, A to lift, Y hint, X restart.

Tips

  • Use the peekaboo at the start: look at where the twins sit before the buckets drop.
  • The critter you saw last is the one to follow when the buckets swap.
  • The little hand shows a safe move after a few seconds. Using the hint button more than three times costs a star.
  • Open the Critter Album on the title screen to see which friends you have met and when the next one joins.

About this game

Critters are having a picnic, and they are hiding. Under every little bucket on the blanket sits a critter: a fox, a frog, a bunny, a panda, an owl and more. Your job is to find the twins.

Every level starts with a peekaboo. All the critters pop out for a look, wave hello and duck back under their buckets. Remember who sits where! Then tap a bucket to lift it and meet the critter under it, and tap a second bucket to look for its twin. A match is a happy moment: the pair hold paws, hop, walk to the edge of the blanket and sit down with a snack. No match? Both critters say "hmm" and hide again. Nobody ever loses.

But watch the buckets, because they sneak. After a mismatch, two buckets lift on tiny feet with a pair of eyes peeking from under the rim, patter past each other and swap seats. Remembering where the fox was is not enough: you have to follow the bucket with your eyes. Later levels swap two buckets in a row, rotate three at once, and grow from a tiny 2 by 2 picnic to a big board of eight or ten pairs.

Learning is gentle. Level 1 shows you with a little hand, level 2 explains what a miss means, and level 3 shows the first sneak in slow motion with a dotted trail behind each bucket. When all the pairs are found the critters throw a picnic party.

Every critter you find joins your Critter Album, with its name said out loud, and a new friend turns up every couple of levels.
