Who we are

AimRaj (aimraj.com) makes free games that play in your web browser: games for everyone, made to be safe for kids. We follow the same kid-safe rules for every visitor, whatever their age.

What we store

• Your player cookie. The cookie called aimraj_player holds a secret code for your player. It is locked (encrypted) so nobody else can read it. It lasts 400 days and starts again each time you finish a game. Our server only keeps a scrambled copy of the code (a "hash").
• Your nickname. We make it up from a list of friendly words. You can swap it for another made-up name, but you can't type your own, so real names never end up on a leaderboard.
• Your scores. Your best score in each game (this week and of all time), the level you reached and when. Leaderboards show nicknames and scores to everyone.
• Cookies that make the site work. A session cookie and a security cookie stop fake form posts and remember choices, like a new nickname you are picking. They expire after about two hours without a visit. We keep sessions without your IP address or browser details.
• Server logs. Like every website, our server writes down basic details of each visit: the IP address, the page, the browser and the time. We use them only to keep the site safe and working, and we delete them after a short time.

What you type in the game search is only used to find games. We don't save it, and it is left out of our logs.

Where the games come from

When you press Play, the game loads from our content delivery network (Amazon CloudFront, run by Amazon Web Services), which sends game files quickly wherever you are. Like any web server, it needs your device's IP address to send them.

Some games save things like your settings, coins or unlocked levels in your own browser. That stays on your device. Our pages load their font from our own website, not from a font service.

Visit stats (Google Analytics)

To learn which games people play and what to make next, we count visits with Google Analytics, a service run by Google. It tells us things like which pages were opened, for how long, the kind of device and browser, and the rough area (country or city). It never gets your name, and we can't see who you are.

• Google Analytics saves a random code in cookies called _ga, so a second visit counts as the same visitor. They last 13 months at most.
• We switched off Google's ad features: the stats are not used for ads, not linked to Google accounts (no "Google Signals") and not used to guess who you are.
• Page addresses are sent without anything after a "?", and search results pages are not counted at all, so what you type in the search never reaches Google.
• Google Analytics doesn't keep your IP address. The stats are stored by Google, also outside your country.
• In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland we only count your visit after you say yes. Everywhere else visits are counted unless you say no here. Your answer stays in this browser for 13 months, then we ask again.

What we never ask for

Your email address, your real name, photos, your location, your phone number or your birthday. There is no chat and no way to send messages to other players. We don't track you for ads, and we never sell information about anyone or share it for marketing.

Ads

There are no ads on AimRaj right now. We may add some later to help pay for the games. If we do, they will come from Google AdSense, be labelled "Advertisement" and work like this (and we will update this page):

• We ask Google for non-personalized ads only, and to treat every visitor as a child. These ads are picked using the page you are on and your rough area (like your country or city), not a profile of you or the websites you visited before.
• Google can still use cookies for these ads, to stop you seeing the same ad too often, to count how many ads were shown and to stop fraud.
• If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, Google shows a message asking for your choice about cookies before ads use them.

Seeing and deleting your data

• My scores shows everything we keep about your player: the nickname, the secret code and the best scores.
• Press Forget me there to delete your player and all your scores straight away. The cookie is removed too.
• Players that haven't been seen for 400 days are deleted automatically, with their scores.
• Clearing your browser's cookies also disconnects your player from this device. Keep your secret code if you want to come back to it.

Children's privacy (COPPA and GDPR)

AimRaj is made for everyone, including children, so we built it to work without collecting personal information from anyone. We don't ask who you are, and nobody can post messages. The player cookie, nickname and scores are used only to run the games and leaderboards and to keep the site secure: never for ads based on what you do, and never sold or shared for marketing. Visit stats are used only to see how the site is used and to improve it. We made these choices with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in mind.

For visitors in the EU, the UK and elsewhere: we use this information because the games and leaderboards you choose to use need it, and to keep the site secure. Visit stats are only collected after you say yes. You can see and delete your player yourself on My scores, as described above. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

If you are a parent or guardian and think your child has sent us personal information (for example in a message), get in touch through our Contact page and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
