How to play
- Look under the ice and pick a fish. Draw a loop around the spot it is heading to: the saw cuts that shape.
- Only fish that fit through your hole come up: long slit for long fish, wide oval for fat ones.
- Tap the hole to jig the lure and draw nearby fish in. When the bobber dips, hold to set the hook.
- Hold to reel. Let go when the line glows red, then reel again before the fish gets away.
- Sawing costs daylight and holes freeze shut. Meet the day's coin goal before dusk.
Controls
- Phone or tablet: Draw a loop on the ice with one finger to saw a hole. Tap the hole to jig, hold anywhere to reel, let go to ease the line. The shape tray (slit, round, wide) appears after a few missed draws.
- Mouse: Drag a loop on the ice to saw, click to jig, hold the button to reel.
- Keyboard: 1 2 3 saw a slit, round or wide hole, β β turn the shape, Space jig and hold to reel, F Catch Book, Esc pause.
- Gamepad: A jig and reel, X and Y saw a slit or round hole, D-pad left and right turn the shape.
Tips
- Look at the fish before you cut: a hole a little longer and wider than its body is enough, and smaller holes cost less light.
- Draw the hole ahead of where the fish is swimming, not on top of it, then tap to jig it over.
- When the line glows red, let go at once; reel again as soon as the glow fades.
- On trophy days a giant swims: save daylight for one hole that fits it when its huge shadow shows.
About this game
Hole Saw Fishing is ice fishing where the hole is your choice. You look down on a frozen lake through clear ice and watch the fish swim below: perch and bluegill in small schools, a long pike gliding alone, a fat carp nosing the weeds. Draw a loop on the ice with your finger and the saw cuts exactly that shape. Then the catch: only a fish whose body fits through your hole can come up. A pike needs a long, thin slit. A carp needs a wide oval. A puffer needs a big round hole. Fish that do not fit swim up, bump the edge and swim away.

Every hole costs daylight, and the bigger the outline, the more light the saw eats. Holes freeze shut after half a minute, and a giant hole scares the shy fish away, so the best anglers read the fish under the ice and cut the smallest hole that fits the one they want. Tap to jig the lure and draw a fish over. When it bites, hold to reel, and let go when the line glows red, or it snaps.
Five short lessons teach the saw, the shapes and the line. Then 35 days across five lakes, from Pine Lake to the Glacier Pond, each with its own fish and bait, and a trophy giant on every fifth day. Fill a Catch Book of 40 species, earn coins for a faster saw, a warmer coat and new bait, and chase your best day.
The Daily Lake is the same lake for everyone each day, and Pass the rod lets two players fish the same lake on one device, 90 seconds each. Hole Saw Fishing plays free in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer.
