How to play

  • Drag a finger left or right and the bike follows it. Ride through treats to stack them in your basket.
  • Hold BRAKE before bumps, roots and landings. Let go on the smooth bits to go faster.
  • A tall stack wobbles more. If it leans too far the top treat flies off: steer through it to catch it.
  • At a fork, the smooth path is long and safe and the rocky path is short and shaky. Pick one!
  • Everything you bring lands on the picnic blanket and your friends eat it. Kids Mode (tap the turtle) brakes for you.

Controls

  • Phone or tablet: Drag anywhere to steer and hold the BRAKE button with your other thumb. Tilting your phone steers too.
  • Keyboard: ← β†’ or A D steer, ↓, S or Space brake. Esc pauses.
  • Mouse: Press and drag to steer, hold the BRAKE button.
  • Gamepad: The left stick steers, a trigger or bumper brakes. Start pauses.

Tips

  • Brake before root ladders and ramps, then let go on the smooth bits to save time.
  • A taller stack wobbles more, so every treat you grab is a choice.
  • Steer through a treat that flew off and it hops back on top. Watch the gauge turn orange before it tips.
  • At a fork the smooth way is longer but safe, and the rocky gully is short but shaky.

About this game

Downhill Picnic is a cheerful mountain bike game with a wobbly twist: you are riding the picnic down the hill. A bear cub in a bike helmet pedals a bicycle with a wicker basket on the front, and every treat you ride through hops into the basket and stacks up in a tower. Sandwiches, cupcakes, watermelon slices, juice boxes, pies and more, fifteen kinds in all.

Gravity does the riding and you do the steering. Drag a finger, tilt your phone or use the arrow keys to swing toward the treats, and hold the BRAKE pedal to slow down. Bumps, roots and hard landings make the tower sway like jelly, and the faster you hit them, the harder it shakes. Lean it too far and the top treat flies off the stack and rolls down the trail. Steer through it and you catch it again! A taller tower is a wobblier tower, so every treat you grab is a choice: how much can you carry?

Pick your path at forks. The smooth way by the pond is long and safe, and the rocky gully is short and shaky. Whatever you bring to the bottom lands on the picnic blanket, where your animal friends cheer and eat it all up. Bring everything under the par time for three stars.

There are 25 trails on five mountains, from sunny Meadow Hill to the steamy Sunset Volcano. A new friend joins the picnic every five trails, and a picnic album fills up with photos of who came and what they ate. Kids Mode (tap the turtle) brakes before the bumps for you and always lets you catch a treat that flies off.
