How to play
- Press the green dot and drag your finger along the dots. Gold paint follows you.
- Some letters have two or three strokes. Do them in order, the next one lights up.
- Paint the whole letter and the egg cracks open. A friend that starts with the letter hatches!
- Off the dots? The paint waits for you. Lift your finger and press where the gold ends.
- Open the Parade to see every friend you have hatched and hear their words again.
Controls
- Phone or tablet: Press the green dot and drag along the dots. Lift and press at the end of the gold to carry on.
- Keyboard: Space or H shows the helping hand again, Esc pauses (tracing itself needs a finger or a mouse).
- Mouse: Hold the button on the green dot and drag along the dots.
- Gamepad: Y shows the helping hand again, the d-pad and A work the menus (tracing needs a finger or a mouse).
Tips
- Start at the green dot. The next dot to trace gently pulses.
- Wobbly fingers are fine: the dots forgive a wide wobble, and the paint waits if you slip off.
- Wait a few seconds and a helping hand shows how to trace the letter.
- Tap a friend in the Parade to hear its word again.
About this game
Every letter is an egg waiting to hatch. A big letter sits on a speckled egg in a cozy straw nest, drawn as chunky dots with a green start dot. Press the green dot and drag your finger along the dots: gold paint follows you, and every dot pops into a star. Paint the whole letter and the egg glows, rocks twice, cracks and bursts open. Out hops a friend that starts with your letter, an alligator for A, and a voice says its name. Then it marches off to join your parade along the bottom of the screen.

There is nothing to lose. If your finger wanders off the dots, the paint simply waits where you stopped, so you can lift your finger and carry on. There are no timers, no wrong answers and no game over, and nothing needs reading: a helping hand shows the way, and it comes back if you wait a few seconds.
All 26 English letters are here, from easy ones such as I and O to curvy ones such as S and B. Letters with more than one stroke light up the next stroke for you. Every letter has its own picture friend and its spoken word, so children see the shape, hear the sound and meet something that starts with it. Every five letters make a page, and finishing a page sets off a confetti party, and your next eggs wear a new shell pattern. Open the Parade any time to see everyone you have hatched, tap a friend to hear its word again, and fill the whole book.
