Swap Party

Arcade Ages 6 and up Kids Mode for 6-8 More Arcade games For little ones

How to play

  • Tap your corner to join, choose teams and bots, then press Go! Empty seats are played by bots.
  • Each game has one button: tap (or hold) in your corner, or press your key: Q, P, Z or M.
  • At the bell your critter slides to your partner's corner. Keep playing their game from where they left it.
  • You and your partner score one shared number, so leave them a good start before the bell.
  • After three to six games the podium shows the party total. Kids Mode (tap the turtle) makes every game gentler.

Controls

  • Phone or tablet: Each player taps or holds in their own corner of the screen (half the screen with two players, the whole screen alone). Four thumbs at once work.
  • Keyboard: Q, P, Z and M are the four players' buttons. Playing alone, Space, ↑ or Enter also work. Esc pauses.
  • Mouse: Playing alone, click or hold anywhere.
  • Gamepad: Playing alone, A is your button. Start pauses.

Tips

  • Before the bell, think about your partner: a neat straight neck or a half-pumped balloon is a gift, a wobbly mess is a trap.
  • Pump Pals: the balloon creaks and wobbles just before it pops. Bank it then, or squeeze a little more for a brave bonus.
  • Cake Spin: tap when an empty slot is at the front. A straight candle, dead center, is worth more; a taken slot bounces it.
  • Playing alone? The Daily Party is the same for everyone today, and only your best try each day counts toward the week.

About this game

Swap Party is a party game for up to four players around one phone, tablet or computer. The screen splits into four corners, and each corner is a little toy table with its own tiny game: stack a giraffe's neck, pump a balloon, hop a rope, put candles on a spinning cake, throw darts at a board or drift a toy car around a ring. Each player has one button and their own corner, and every corner works with all four thumbs at once.

Ten seconds in, a bell rings and every corner slides across the screen: your critter is now on your partner's table and you finish the game they started, while they finish yours. Nothing resets. If you stacked a wobbly neck, your partner has to live with it. If they pumped the balloon almost to bursting, you get the scary last squeeze. You and your partner score one shared number for the round, so the kind move is to leave them a good start.

With Mix on, teams change every game. Bots fill empty seats, from sleepy to quick, or set them to auto to keep the party close. A party is three, five or six games and always ends on a cheerful podium: no fail screens and no last places.

Party School teaches it all in five short lessons with a ghost hand. Then there is a Daily Party: the same five games and the same bots for everyone today, with a week total and cups for days played. Coins from play buy twelve hats, the Buddy Book remembers who you teamed up with, and the Guest Book collects 36 visiting bots. Kids Mode (tap the turtle) slows every game down, gives bigger perfect windows and never shows a fail screen.

Swap Party plays free in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer, held either way.
