Tip: turn your phone sideways, or tap Full screen, for a bigger game.

How to play

  • Tap (or press Space) to hop: the cube jumps for one beat and lands on the next one.
  • Hop over bumps and gaps right on the beat; hold to keep hopping on every beat.
  • Every 8 clean hops in a row adds an instrument to the song; a bonk takes the top one away.
  • Reach the end of the song to finish; keep 4 or more instruments and avoid bonks for more stars.
  • Turn on Practice for checkpoint flags on every level.

Controls

  • Phone or tablet: Tap anywhere to hop, hold to keep hopping.
  • Keyboard: Space, ↑ or W to hop (hold to keep hopping), Esc to pause.
  • Mouse: Click to hop, hold the button to keep hopping.
  • Gamepad: A or d-pad ↑ to hop. Start pauses.

Tips

  • Listen to the drums: every hop that starts on a beat lands on the next beat.
  • Hold the button through a row of bumps on every beat, then let go before a low ceiling.
  • Jump pads throw you over wide gaps by themselves: no tap needed.
  • If your taps feel late, run the tap-sync test in Settings once.

About this game

Every song starts as just a drum beat. You make the rest.

A little jelly cube runs along a neon track, right on the beat of the music. Tap to hop over the jelly bumps. Hop cleanly eight times in a row and the bass joins in with a thump, the floor lights up and a wave of light runs down the track. Eight more and the chords bloom and the sky turns purple. Then the melody, then the sparkly bells, until the whole band is playing and the city behind you glows in every color.

Bonk into a bump and one instrument leaves the band, so the better you play, the fuller the song.

Every one of the 12 levels has its own song made for the game, from a gentle 116 beats a minute to a speedy 150. Each level brings one new idea: holding to hop on every beat, checkpoint flags, gaps, bouncy jump pads, low ceilings to slide under, blocks to hop onto, gravity flips that send you running upside down, and hops between the beats.

The first levels teach as you play: a ring on the floor shows where to hop, and a helping hand shows when. Practice mode puts checkpoint flags on every level, so a bonk only sends you back a little way. Finish a level to keep its song as a record in your collection.

If the beat feels early or late on your device, the tap-sync test in Settings tunes it to your ears.
